The title of my TV show is Shifter, it’s about a person called
James who wants to become a reporter, he is told by his friend Kaz that there
is rumours the experiment
his father was working on has escaped and now it is creating trouble in their neighbourhood. Eventually the protagonist meets the cryptic creature but the screen turns to black before we find out what it did.
James is the protagonist of the story and his friend is the donor
as he gives him the information about his father and the experiment is the
antagonist.
The Equilibrium will be in the beginning when they are talking to
each other but it will quickly switch to the disequilibrium when Kaz talks about
the experiment escaping the laboratory and than it proceeds to follow James all the way to his
garden.
It will start with the two boys talking in the park referencing
other Sci-Fi shows like stranger things and the flash. In the middle of the
episode James will be walking down the street being trailed by a shadowy figure.
In the TV show while James is walking down the road he will put
head phones on and will listen to some diegetic sound
while the experiment is following him, also there will be non-diegetic sound
near the end to increase tension between the two characters, the sound will
subvert the conventions of a Sci-Fi TV show as it wont have anything like dub-step.
At the end James will be in a garden about to call someone but
then the door opens slowly, this raises the
tension for James and the viewer as they do not know whether or not it is wind or the creature Kaz was talking about.

I will use a variety of camera shots like a long shot of the
antagonist’s back, this will provide a feeling of mystery around the character
and also I will use an extreme close up of the James phone near
the ending scene this is too make the audience wonder what happened to him or
whether he died or not, thus creating suspense and a rise in fear which leaves the audience wanting to find out more.
The narrative enigma of the show is who the shapeshifter originally was and why it is targeting James specifically. This TV show will reinforce the stereotypes of a Sci-Fi TV
show as the father of James will be a scientist that was working on an
experiment but it will also subvert some stereotypes as James doesn't dress like someone who is the son of a scientist.
To show that the TV show has a family audience there will be jokes
that children might know as they will be references to mainstream shows but it
will have a mysterious and dark vibe with it that might catch some of the adult’s
attention also the audience of the Shifter would most likely like Stranger Things
and doctor Who.
The costume James will wear is a white shirt with a coat, to
indicate he also knows a lot about science, Kaz will be wearing a red jacket
and a baseball hat. Also the show will be shot in the day time. The only props that will be in the show will be a basketball which is only in Kaz’s hands and a phone which James uses.
There will be 3 locations in the 2 minutes of
the TV show and in total there are 2 actors in the show myself and my
brother who will also be the Shapeshifter.
